The history of FordTress spans over three decades of investing in multiple real estate markets in North America. As we have refined our investment approach, expanded our global footprint, and gained more experience investing in real estate.

We have steadily increased our assets under management, grown our client base, and retained our core group of investors.

 

The senior members of FordTress have gained expertise investing across a variety of economic environments, from periods of property market decline to periods of recovery and expansion.

This experience applies across the life cycle of an investment, from strategy setting and execution to realization. While history never repeats itself exactly, FordTress believes that knowledge of past cycles gives predictive power, which translates into sound investment ideas.

Research at FordTress is an in-house function that supports each of the firm’s three business units. It is a vital part of the investment process and the focus of significant corporate resources. Our dynamic research team combines an emphasis on top-down analysis, which generates regional market weights and sector or property type picks, with bottom-up research on individual assets, submarkets, and markets to help form investment decisions.

Economists believe that legacies of Mexican real estate wealth will significantly boost the resources of the 76 million Baby Boomers.  That means by the year 2052, an estimated $40.6 trillion will change hands as Baby Boomers and their parents pass on their accumulated assets to their heirs.

 The U.S. dollar continues to stay strong outperforming The Mexican peso on an average of 15 to 1. The Canadian dollar is robust, and is on par with the U.S. dollar for the first time in 30 years….. and Canadians are buying.

 It is estimated that these ex-pats already own $30 Billion in Mexican real estate and will invest another $10 Billion in the next two years.

With new flights, city improvements, and natural beauty, the city of Mazatlán is quickly becoming the go to vacation destination in Mexico.

With some of coastal Mexico’s best land and sea activities for travelers, a rich history and vibrant culture. Mazatlán is quickly returning to its position as a most sought-after vacation destination.

Delta Airlines has a new seasonal, nonstop service from Los Angeles, and Sun Country has expanded its seasonal service from Minneapolis; the airline increased their flights to Mazatlán from two per week to four. The Rafael Buelna Airport also underwent a $7.4 million renovation, which included a new facade, a redo of the corridors and check-in areas and the addition of specialty shops. New jet ways also eliminate walking across the tarmac in the hot summer sun and climbing stairs to the airplanes.

Once visitors get into town, they will also notice that Mazatlán’s Historic District is more vibrant than ever. The 180-block district, which includes 500 buildings that have been designated historic landmarks, underwent a massive renovation that revitalized its 19th century buildings and landmarks. Travelers looking for Mazatlán’s cultural hub will find it here, with its boutiques, museums, jazz clubs, galleries and cafes. And for a bit of culture during the vacation, visitors must attend a performance at the Angela Peralta Theater, which takes its name from the 19th-century opera star. The theater offers a variety of theatrical performances, operas and concerts.
